Ellen Schaefer-Salins, LCSW-C is a clinical social worker who has been a provider of mental health therapy services for over 20 years. She works with individuals, couples and families, and works with clients who are hearing, deaf or hard-of-hearing. She is fluent in sign language. Specialties include couples therapy, and working with people with depression and anxiety.

She graduated with her MSW from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, School of Social Work, and is currently working on her Ph. D. in clinical social work at Catholic University. She is also an adjunct professor at Gallaudet University where she teaches a course on how to pass the social work licensing exam. In addition she consults at Deaf-REACH and other agencies in the Washington metro area on clinical issues.
